Accessibility Statement

A number of features have been implemented in this website to allow access and usability for all regardless of ability.

1. Access Keys for those not Using a Mouse

If your browser supports access keys, you may select the links described below, using access keys. Access keys are used by holding down the ALT key with the access key to select the link and then pressing the enter button. In this website the following access keys have been used.

  • access key i: to come into website from the entrance page
  • access key m: to select the email link on any page

  • access key 0: to display the accessibility statement

The navigation links given at the bottom of each page have been numbered sequentially as follows:

  • access key 1: about us page
  • access key 2: services and products page
  • access key 3: hours and how to find us page
  • access key 4: contact us page
  • access key 5: links page
  • access key 6: to go back to the home, entrance page

You may also find it useful to know that the following general Internet Explorer keyboard short cuts which can be used with any website.

  • The Ctrl + Tab Keys: can be used to move focus from one frame to the next.
  • The Tab key: can be used to move from one link to the next sequentially through a web page. The selected link has a line around it. Once selected press the Enter Key to activate the link..
  • The Alt + Left or Right Arrow Keys: can be used to move back to, or forwards to, a page you have already visited.

2. Features for Visually Impaired users

  • A non frames website has been given to allow easier reading with a screen reader in combination with a text only browser, or magnification software. Note: if you are zooming in, to a large extent using the Opera Browser you will be better off using the non-frames version of the website, than the framed version.
  • These web pages have been tested with the lynx text only browser.
  • The hyper links given in the non frames website are at the end of the page allowing the main body of the text to be read first.
  • Alternative text has been given for all images.
  • The text size can be over ridden and changed to a larger one using your browser's features.

3. Features for Colour Blind users

These pages have been tested using the Vis Check software to determine the clarity of the pages, for the 3 main types of colour blindness.

4. Features for those with Reading Difficulties

There is good contrast between the text and back ground colours. There are plenty of pictures in the website, and graphical buttons are given in the framed version of the website.

5. Features for those with Older Computers

The web pages are made so that they can contract or expand to fill computer monitor size. So if you have a small monitor size this feature will help you. If your computer is old it may not support frames please use the non frames website in this case.

The oldest browsers these pages have been tested for are

  • Internet Explorer and Netscape 4+.
  • Lynx , text only browser
